Tepary Bean ‘USDA Fortuna’ – High Yielding, Disease Resistant

Timothy Porch This chapter describes the release of ‘USDA Fortuna’, a high yielding tepary bean with enhanced seed size, seed quality, and reduced cooking time. This cultivar has also shown tolerance to Bean golden yellow mosaic virus (BGYMV), resistance to leafhoppers, common bacterial blight, and some local strains of rust, and moderate resistance to powdery mildew.
