Vivian Bernau, Mark Millard, David Peters Regenerating germplasm is the most risky operation in genebank management, yet also the most critical. In order to reduce the number of regenerations needed by an accession, and the resources required for the regeneration (labor for controlled hand pollination, harvest, processing), we aim to improve the efficiency of germplasm regenerations by tailoring regenerations to the expected demand of material using historic data extracted from the National Plant Germplasm System’s GRIN-Global database.
