USDA National Agricultural Library This 11-minute video is a historical silent motion picture produced by the USDA in the 1920s. P.H. Dorsett and James Dorsett created this motion picture during an agricultural exploration trip to China in 1926 and 1927. The film shows techniques and tools used by Chinese persimmon growers to pick, transport, store, and sell their persimmon crops. It includes footage of fruit stacked by hand on open-air beds for winter storage.
