Kayla R. Altendorf, David H. Gent, Nahla V. Bassil. Powdery mildew is one of the most economically damaging diseases of hop in the United States. The fungus has overcome two of sources of resistance and few options remain for breeders to develop new, resistant varieties. This project evaluated 102 ARS hop breeding lines and NPGS hop accessions and identified seven with host-plant resistance to powdery mildew. These lines were formally released through the USDA National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) to enable their use in cultivar development and hop production.
