Lisa Taylor Join Lisa Taylor for a tour of the seed storage and distribution facilities at the Western Regional Plant Introduction Station (WRPIS) in Pullman, Washington. WRPIS, a part of the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System (NPGS) is responsible for maintaining diverse collections of cool season crops, including: beans, peas, lettuce, alfalfa, and so much more! Seeds from these temperate-adapted crops, their wild relatives, and a wide range of native species are maintained in huge cold rooms kept at 4 or -20 degrees C. This video shows how WRPIS manages these collections of seeds and distributes them to scientists across the U.S. and across the world.
