Pecan Pollen Cryopreservation

Shepherd The purpose of this training is to demonstrate the process of harvesting Carya (pecan) catkins from the field and preparing the pollen for either making crosses or for shipment to the National Laboratory for Genetic Resources Preservation for further processing and long-term storage in liquid nitrogen. This training is designed for scientists and technical staff with horticultural, cryopreservation, or plant tissue culture experience.
