International Oak Society Due to their sensitivity to drying and freezing, oak seeds cannot be maintained in long-term storage by traditional means. Oak pollen, however, appears to tolerate drying and freezing. This short video shows the process used to collect, dry, and cryopreserve oak pollen for the Global Oak Pollen Bank project.
