Lettuce NPGS Germplasm – Verticillium Wilt Resistance

Warburton This success story describes how several accession of heirloom lettuce in the National Plant Germplasm System were found to have resistance to Verticillium Wilt Race 1. These accessions gave breeders the tools needed to develop iceberg lettuce cultivars resistant to this disease.
